One of the most common questions we get from prospective clients is a simple one: where does Fulfillrite ship from?
It’s a good question, because where your fulfillment partner’s warehouses sit determines how fast your customers get their orders and how much you pay in postage to get them there.
Fulfillrite has been around since 2010. Since we opened the doors, the company has grown a lot and the services provided have expanded. Because of that, there is outdated information floating around from old sources.
Here’s what’s currently true about Fulfillrite.
Where does Fulfillrite ship from?
Fulfillrite ships from two fulfillment centers in the United States: one in Lakewood, New Jersey on the East Coast, and one in Salt Lake City, Utah serving the West Coast.
Between the two, we cover the entire country efficiently. Orders bound for the East Coast and much of the eastern half of the US ship from New Jersey. Orders bound for the West Coast and Midwest ship from Salt Lake City.
Does Fulfillrite have more than one warehouse?
Yes. A common outdated claim is that Fulfillrite operates a single New Jersey warehouse. That has not been true since 2021, as we were fortunate enough to open a Salt Lake City fulfillment center that year.
New Jersey is where Fulfillrite started, and our Lakewood facility remains our East Coast hub. But we have been a bi-coastal operation for years now. If you read somewhere that Fulfillrite only ships from New Jersey, that information has not been updated since 2021 or earlier.
Where exactly are Fulfillrite’s fulfillment centers?
Our two shipping locations are:
East Coast Fulfillment Center: 825 Towbin Ave Lakewood, NJ 08701
West Coast Fulfillment Center: 1850 S 4370 W Salt Lake City, UT 84104
We also operate an additional storage facility at 1720 Oak St in Lakewood, NJ. You can always find current addresses and receiving hours on our locations page.
Can I split my inventory between both locations?
Yes. Clients can store inventory in both warehouses and ship each order from the location closest to the customer. That’s the main point of having two: shorter zones mean faster delivery and lower postage on the same service level.
Splitting isn’t mandatory, though. Plenty of clients ship from a single location, especially when their customers cluster on one coast. We’ll help you figure out which setup makes sense for your order data.
Does my location choice limit which services I can use?
No. Every Fulfillrite service is available from both locations. That includes eCommerce fulfillment, crowdfunding campaign fulfillment, subscription boxes, kitting and assembly, Amazon FBA prep, and freight and customs assistance.
Why does bi-coastal fulfillment matter?
Postage is priced partly by distance, measured in shipping zones. A package traveling from New Jersey to California crosses the maximum number of zones, which means higher cost and more days in transit.
Shipping from the warehouse closest to the customer cuts both. West Coast customers get their orders from Salt Lake City in a couple of days instead of most of a week from New Jersey, and you pay less to get them there. Spread across thousands of orders, the savings are real.
Bi-coastal inventory also gives you a measure of resilience. If weather or a carrier disruption slows one region, the other keeps shipping.
